Its Time For Some Summer Reading

Last weekend whilst we were out yard sailing I picked up a copy of The Ruins last year's best selling thriller that I believe was also made into a movie or perhaps it was last year's blockbuster movie, and the book is older????

Either way it looked really good, and I've started off my summer reading with it this afternoon.

If I really love the book I'll be sure to do a quick review here on the Zoo. Also if you have any good suggestions for summer mysteries, sci fi or thrillers please do let me know. B)

Speaking of My Stupid Thyroid Disease

I forgot to include in my last update on the Graves disease that I have weaned myself off of the sleeping pills. Yayyyy!!! And I definitely feel far less groggy during the day because my sleep is no longer drug induced. My bus man has even noticed a difference. :D

I still suffer with bouts of sleeplessness, and light sleep so I am looking into more natural alternatives to a good night's rest like white noise machines. Have you heard of these before?

I was reading about them both offline, and via the site I've linked to, and I feel this may be a good alternative to help me fall into a deeper state of sleep. They work by blotting out excess noise like the bus man's snoring, and by creating that humming sound that helps us nod off, like the running a vacuum near a restless baby trick.

I find on those nights where my sleep is poor or broken I am far more clumsy, forgetful, and yep crabby the next day. So to me it is worth checking out.

I also believe that sleep is a very important part of the healing process, and ultimately I really hope to achieve remission without joining the nuclear club if you know what I mean ;)

So I Saw The Specialist

So yesterday I had my two month appointment with the specialist, and I received some good and some possibly bad news.

My thyroid is reacting well to the pills I'm on, but my liver may not be, and destruction of the liver is not an option.

The worst outcome is I'm taken off the Tapazole, my symptoms rapidly return and they use radioactive iodine to destroy my thyroid permanently. I join the atomic club...and yes it does scare me as I still feel I am very young, and there are some permanent side effects from going that route.

I should know in a few days.......

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

I have always thought that window signs can be a powerful marketing tool, while providing potential customers with valuable shop information such as the cost of that doggie in the window. ;) This works just as well with signs for car windows etc.

My regular readers should already know that I worked within the print industry for many years, and therefore consider myself to have some good working expertise on the subject. Therefore I am quite confident in recommending to you VistaPrint for all of your various printing needs whether you are involved in your own business venture or just like the personal touch of your own custom stamps, stationary etc.

VistaPrint offers a well designed website that I have found to be very easy to use. They can help you with marketing materials, such as signage like I mentioned above, decals, business cards, pretty much anything that you need that requires printing. You can even upload your own logo or design to their site! Cool eh!

The handiest benefit, and feature to me though is how you can get your business cards online in only three steps. :D

They really are a super company that has serviced millions of customers, and guarantee their prices to be the lowest. Why not check them out next time you are purchasing printed materials. B)
