Earlier today my hubby sent me an article on a very cool appliance. The appliance is a washing machine that works while using only a single cup of water! Now how cool is that?! Read on for a snippet from the news item on this innovative appliance.

A washing machine that uses only a cup of water to carry out a full wash, leaving clothes virtually dry, has been developed by British inventors.

Researchers say the technology, which uses less than 2 per cent of the water and energy of a conventional machine, could save billions of litres of water each year.

The machine, which has been created by academics at Leeds University, works by using thousands of plastic chips - each about half a centimetre in size - to absorb and remove dirt.

Depending on how much they will be selling these for I would definitely by one. Hopefully they will be mass marketed, and people given tax breaks or rebates for purchasing them.

I had just finished having a quarter pounder with cheese, and yes tomatoes when I heard over the radio that McDonalds in Canada was following the US lead, and pulling tomatoes off its menu due to a food poisoning scare. It is very rare I eat at McDonalds, and to be honest this was a bit of a turn off for me, despite the fact the company acted quickly, and responsibly.
