You do a rant when you're supposed to do a blessing, you expect a little negativity... but nope, that's not how it's played out...
My post yesterday which was in frustration over the "climate change deniers" was a touch vitriolic... but instead of garnering negative attention, my overall feedback has been shockingly positive!
I do remind those who are using my post for various things (like their own posts) to try and ensure you credit the links I gave more than my own ranting please...
Speaking of exciting "props" for my efforts, I will know how I did in The Canadian Blog Awards on Thursday morning. (They will announce on Wednesday, but they usually do it VERY late in the evening in Toronto and I'm usually in bed when they post!)
That's about all I have for this Monday morning so far... but I did want to address one comment/question which was e-mailed to me about my post yesterday...
The comment was about my obvious "Lefty" stance and my admiration (in apparently "carnal" terms,) of Al Gore...
What can I say... you read between the lines and found The Truth! Even though I did say I was angry about the politicization of the issue and that Al Gore has done science no favours, you saw THE TRUTH behind my intricate tangle of lies!
Since we're on the topic of things that MUST be true, allow me to save this person some time reading between the lines...
Okay, enough fun...
NOWHERE did I say that I did believe in the "Worst Case Scenario" when it comes to my stand on Climate Change... in fact, I did mention my anger at the politicization of the whole thing and how "science" should not be "politics"... but you prove (along with others) that this cannot be true... that OBVIOUSLY politics and science go hand-in-hand...
...but call me a goof, but if my political leader told me that there was a euphoric sense of well being and no penalty in terms of my health to standing on a highway in the winter in my altogether at night... I don't think I'll do it and I'll DOUBT my political leader...
ANYWAY, I've wasted enough good venom on this subject... my last post on Sunday had links to resources... wanna attack these things, attack them at their source. Wanna attack me? You won't change my mind... I still think pollution is bad... and I have covered the whole "bus" thing already in terms of that.
THIS IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN ABOUT POLLUTION for me... not politics... not religion... not other issues...
Saying things like You care more about a drowning polar bear then the children is beyond asinine. First of all, I'm a father... step-father albeit, but none-the-less... Second, I have never said I believed in the "worst case scenario" in terms of Global Warming, but if every polar bear DOES drown, I'll be worried, as will you, with getting my kids to higher ground and finding them drinking water. Now, I doubt this would happen... but you brought it up.
Y'know, I worry about crime, I worry about fire, I worry about carbon monoxide poisoning, I'm worried about my colon, heart, blood pressure, and cholesterol. I worry about the fate of some African countries, I worry about terrorist attacks, I worry about cancer, I worry about child abductions, I worry about nuclear weapons (but not nuclear power), I worry about the homeless, I worry about abandoned and cruelly-treated animals, I worry about man's inhumanity to man...
Do these concerns mean I am a horrible person that does not pay enough attention to YOUR causes? Because I have not devoted my life to YOUR cause, I'm evil?
If I am... what can I say...
Here I come! (...and I'll save you a bench!)
Remember: If you NEED to e-mail or comment about my stance on pollution or even the dreaded "global warming", click here, visit the links and argue with THEM. You change their minds, then let me know and I'll re-examine things at that point... but I will not be responding to things about this topic anymore... sorry, but I gots other things to do than argue with folks about pollution. You like it? That's fine... I'm not a fan of pollution... leave it at that.

The Current Time in Toronto is...
This blog was started in April of 2006... its original itent was really twofold. One was to be a "sounding board" for it's author... and the other... well...
At the time we started this, your humble author was unemployed and going through the usual crisis situations that arise from being jobless.
We (my wife, stepdaughter, and I,) used to "amuse" ourselves (read: Take our minds off our troubles) by more-or-less fantasizing as a family about what we'd do when things "turned around". Along this route, we discussed going to England on a vacation... and in that, alighted on "double-decker buses".
We kind of adopted one bus... Regent Low Height 3... as Our Bus... and we used to talk about what we'd do with "our bus" if we got it... from fixing it up to the trips we'd take on it.
Along the way, we became students of the history of this bus which HONESTLY seemd it was truly for us... trouble was, we couldn't afford the bus and weren't in a position to work towards the bus... so we had a couple of options...
Since the bus' position was sketchy (there's a chance she might be sold for scrap or "carved up" in other ways,) we could forget about her and pretend she didn't exist...
...or we could TRY... ask for help... put our dream of owning and saving "One Old Green Bus" into the universe and see what happens...
As of February, 2008, we knew that there was a perspective buyer for the bus (not us, obviously,) and made some difficult decisions... The first was that we wouldn't "beg" for help anymore and give the little money we received to a few different charities both online and off... and the second was simply hope that either we find a corporate sponsor (for an "ad" idea we have, click here to about read that,) or even a patron who see's the value in a silly family's dream...
But, if the bus is about to be purchased by someone who's planning on restoring it and they "get there first", we wish them well and are glad that at least Our One Old Green Bus is in a safe place being looked after.
For now, though, we are still hoping WE might be the ones to get our One Old Green Bus and see a family dream come true...
Regardless, this blog WILL continue... and we will still "go for" a bus of our own... but this blog will ALWAYS be dedicated to our own One Old Green Bus.
