Allow me to share three things that I do not agree with... sorta.
Basically, it's stuff to consider about standing up and being heard...
#1: Don't agitate!
I forgot where I found it... one of those Weird "X" websites that highlight little known touristy things in a particular area. The site talked about a "folk artist" who had a farm anyone could visit with loads of interesting and odd bits of sculpture made of effectively garbage.
On the side of one barn, he had nailed up nothing but the agitators from washing machines (laundry machines) and their respective parts... he referred to it as "The Wall of Agitators" or something like this...
The man, like me, obviously lived to deliver a punchline.
When someone asked "Why" there was a wall of agitators, he replied...
Without agitation, nothing comes clean.
Something to consider...
When asked by a young follower in 1895, shortly before his death, what the young man could do to further the cause of equal rights, Frederick Douglass replied "Agitate, agitate, agitate."
#2: Don't stir the pot!
Most people have cooked SOMETHING... and if you have cooked, have you cooked anything in a pot?
..if so, what happens when you STOP stirring?
Stuff burns, sticks to the bottom... and generally the meal is ruined and the pot impossible to clean.
...so, is it REALLY so bad to stir the pot?
#3: Question Authority!
Don't question authority.
No, this does NOT mean that suddenly, like certain political lemmings, in order to "save face" for a side of the spectrum I'm suggesting that you blindly agree and nod along with bad decisions and poor information from a ruling oligarchy... not at all.
My variation?
Don't question authority, question EVERYONE that would assume authority!
You see, too many times people in the civilized world will rail against some sort of bad leadership or even philosophical stance only to bring in change that is, in essence, exactly the same as that which they had issues with.
I often equate it to living in a house made of rotten timbers... and thinking a new coat of paint will make it better.
Also, you need to question authority too... because not all persons in a leadership position are bad or evil... but they may have 70% reasonable ideas and 30% crapola swimming about in their noodle... and it may behove you NOT to (again) nod along like a toy dog with a spring head in the back of an old Buick riding along a dirt road... but to bring up your ideas and concerns.
Questioning anyone does NOT mean being against them... it means possibly strengthening their stance by giving them alternative feedback.
So don't JUST question authority, question everyone and anyone.

I think that a lot of people are too judgemental when it comes to Russian women dating men from the west. We were pretty sceptical of it ourselves until a co-worker of mine started dating a woman from Belarus. That was ten years ago, and they have since gotten married, and are very genuinely happy.
Lovers Planet - Russian Women is a website that offers western men a chance to meet women from Russia, and other Eastern European countries. The site is set up to be user friendly, and easy to navigate. You can check it out if you are interested by clicking on the link I have added into this entry. I should also add that posting a personal ad through the site is absolutely free. Good lucks!

The Current Time in Toronto is...
This blog was started in April of 2006... its original itent was really twofold. One was to be a "sounding board" for it's author... and the other... well...
At the time we started this, your humble author was unemployed and going through the usual crisis situations that arise from being jobless.
We (my wife, stepdaughter, and I,) used to "amuse" ourselves (read: Take our minds off our troubles) by more-or-less fantasizing as a family about what we'd do when things "turned around". Along this route, we discussed going to England on a vacation... and in that, alighted on "double-decker buses".
We kind of adopted one bus... Regent Low Height 3... as Our Bus... and we used to talk about what we'd do with "our bus" if we got it... from fixing it up to the trips we'd take on it.
Along the way, we became students of the history of this bus which HONESTLY seemd it was truly for us... trouble was, we couldn't afford the bus and weren't in a position to work towards the bus... so we had a couple of options...
Since the bus' position was sketchy (there's a chance she might be sold for scrap or "carved up" in other ways,) we could forget about her and pretend she didn't exist...
...or we could TRY... ask for help... put our dream of owning and saving "One Old Green Bus" into the universe and see what happens...
As of February, 2008, we knew that there was a perspective buyer for the bus (not us, obviously,) and made some difficult decisions... The first was that we wouldn't "beg" for help anymore and give the little money we received to a few different charities both online and off... and the second was simply hope that either we find a corporate sponsor (for an "ad" idea we have, click here to about read that,) or even a patron who see's the value in a silly family's dream...
But, if the bus is about to be purchased by someone who's planning on restoring it and they "get there first", we wish them well and are glad that at least Our One Old Green Bus is in a safe place being looked after.
For now, though, we are still hoping WE might be the ones to get our One Old Green Bus and see a family dream come true...
Regardless, this blog WILL continue... and we will still "go for" a bus of our own... but this blog will ALWAYS be dedicated to our own One Old Green Bus.
