What a week...
I almost gave up on this... I'd had enough... and to be honest, I was feeling bloody, bruised, and genuinely unhappy about the whole thing.
Basically, the pervasive air of cynicism online, although justified, about people "plugging" personal quests had soured so many... that it was taking a toll on me... and still is, I won't deny.
...but if I may quote my own "I Almost Quit" post...
What it really comes down to is... IS ALL THIS REALLY WORTH IT?
To not have to tell my kid that dreams can't come true because the world is too cynical a place to allow it? To possibly see this whacky dream come true? To not give up on all the friends and bloggers I've met through doing this?
Yeah, it is worth it... it's just taxing and rather massively depressing some of the times.
So, I'm gutting it out... Fingers crossed...
I'm a little battered from the last two weeks... a little sore... a little wiser... but not QUITE ready to toss in the towel...
Of course, things like this sure help spark the flames... Trish is now my most favourite blogger in the whole world. (TAKE THAT, MR. FAB!)
As some of you know, I did make a "MySpace" page for the ol' dream... and shunned FaceBook...
Well, Sue got convinced to do a FaceBook... and now I'm CONSIDERING doing one up for RLH 3 and the dream... think it's a good idea? Input VERY welcome!
I've had a pretty prolific week... writing articles for The History Blog and The Paranormal Blog as well as my many updates here... and all this while the "day job" has turned up the heat! (I'm even working through the weekend much to Sue's dismay...
I suppose, however, I should get to the meat of the purpose of this post...
No, sadly, there has been absolutely NO movement... no money and no new information on the bus.
S'okay though... I'm not dead yet... and I ain't giving up...
...and honestly, when I do feel that I'm being repeatedly hit in the nether regions with a lead pipe, I must remember this post.
Remember that episode of The Simpsons where Homer messes up (so far, that's all of them,) so Mr. Burns "punishes" him by saying that he will HAVE to work his job FOREVER? He places a demotivational plaque in front of Homer's desk that says, "Don’t forget: you’re here forever!"... and homer strategically places pictures of Maggie until it reads...
"Do it for her."
I've got two "hers" to do it for... and despite saying that my "quitting" would be altruistic in terms of my family, Sue reminded me Thursday night that it wouldn't be... both her and the kid are also hoping... and it's not my decision alone to remove that hope.
So, another week down... and we hope that the next little while will be better and less stressful for your's truly...
The standard last note on the old blog... PLEASE SUPPORT THE DREAM!

The Current Time in Toronto is...
NEW! For the next few weeks, we need your help more than ever! Not only are we still hoping for our bus (see below) but are hoping that either we can find a buyer/owner for an old red bus that will be scrapped without a saviour OR we are hoping to raise the $5,000.00 it will take for us to be able to rescue this bus ourselves. We only have a few weeks so help is needed URGENTLY to save this wonderful old bus. Please click here for more information about this bus that's in grave danger of being scrapped...
This blog is (more or less) about the attempts to acquire a dusty, old, double-decker bus...restore, and refurbish her...for use as a camper/RV, and day tripper for fun, and travel
The bus is a Regent Low Height (to be exact, RLH 3) in Santa Rosa, California... To purchase and ship it to our home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will require a minimum of $20k in US dollars to achieve...
As goofy as it may seem, owning this old, dusty, non-running, needs a tonne of work bus would be a dream come true for our family.
