Here's some photos that I was going to toss on our "Wordless Wednesday" posts... but nah... I've got MANY others, and these ones just aren't making the cut... because I got too many to use as it stands!
Now, ALMOST ALL the buses below are not red... I get a lot of people asking me about our "Old Green Bus" as it's from London and it's green... well...
London Transport "City Buses" are indeed red, but the "country buses" (those going to the suburbs) were (and still occasionally are) green... Now, the green buses still did (do) come into the city core, but they went further afield then their red counterparts... so now you know. (If you didn't already...)
So, without further adieu, allow me to share the pics!

More popular in the UK than in North America, there seem to be a few "play buses" rolling about... buses turned into rolling playrooms for kids. Above is one getting some final touches on it's paint job... I'm kinda surprised that I haven't seen any "play buses" in North America... seems like a great idea for kids parties... and no, sadly, our bus really won't be used for that purpose... save our eleven year-old's friends... To operate a bus as a business would take mucho denero outlay... and it's not part of our plans for the Old Green Bus.

Now I know some people find stripes nice... even slimming... but the above just doesn't do it for me.

Now the above is a very jaunty tour bus... very new, very modern, and quite festive! Looks more like an "adult play bus"! ...wait, that could be misconstrued... an "adult party bus"! ...well, that too could be misconstrued... let's just say it looks very festive!

It looks like "The Knight Bus" from Harry Potter, doesn't it? Well, it's just a standard London Transport Routemaster done up as an advertisement... very cool still though, eh? (For those interested, the "Knight Bus" in the movie was a "chopped/souped up" Regent III bus... not a Routemaster.)

...and not just Harry Potter advertises using a whole bus! The above one looks very interesting and love the "windows" of the buildings/bus...

...and for our American friends, here's a patriotic bus showing itself off... I think I may have another here...

Yup!

...and lastly, a more local bus to us... Brampton is near Toronto and has been running double-deckers for some time... but look carefully at this picture... the passenger in the upper-right window... is The Truth in Brampton and is The Truth riding in a double-decker??? Apparently, they are heading to Blackpool... and I don't mean the one in England! This has to be one of Sue's favourite bus photos, no doubt!
Thanks to British Buses Abroad in North America, Bus Photo UK, The Bristol Commercial Vehicles Enthusiasts, and The Routemaster Golden Jubilee Page for the images above.

See the "latest post" on the left here... I've decided to concentrate on other work so this blog is kinda done for me... THANKS kindly to my friends and regular readers... and as you'll note, I am still loitering in the blogsphere... and I'm still online... and I honestly haven't given up hope that we will get our dream bus one day! (We've just gotten REALLY quiet about it...)
