Blog Your Blessings Sundays: The Moment.

Blog yer Blessings

I was having a bad morning yesterday... but it did improve...

I woke up in a genuine funk... just tired, burnt out, and feeling a touch dejected... but I knew it was transitory... and it was.

If you read my Busly Saturday item, you'll see what I meant.

Like I said, however, it didn't last... and my recommendations to myself were indeed the cure... spend some time with Sue and the puppies... then I did a little surfing before heading out for the day and had a "visitor" who's blog offered an image of a beloved childhood toy.

Then we went out for a stroll and whatnot... and my mood generally improved tenfold.

On our walk, we picked up some lunch from a favourite Ukranian deli and settled in at home for a restful day with movies and our lunch... The kiddo is away for the weekend, so it's just Sue and me (until this evening) and we wanted something nice to celebrate just being together in a gentle way...

The weather has been genuinely springlike (FINALLY) and our windows are cranked open to allow a nice breeze of fresh air... and the sounds of our neighbourhood also.

The latter bit is usually traffic, people loudly talking, and the hustle-and-bustle of a city street... but while eating our schnitzels, we both perked up...

Wafting in with the wind was not only the usual sounds... but faintly, almost wafting in with the air were the sounds of a lone piper...

It was faint, but there was no denying it... the skirl of a pipe was audible... and we both knew, it was a busker who often plays on the major street nearby, but usually, too far away for us to hear it in our closet apartment well appointed compound.

...but today was different...

The sounds were the wind, the faint cluster of the city, and the sound of a bagpiper playing a lively air.

I looked at Sue... and realised, that in many ways, life was perfect... sure, the closet apartment family compound could be larger... sure, we're still battling bugs from our online issues... sure, there's work aplenty to do... but for a moment, it was me, my wife, our dogs, a lovely lunch... and the piper far off in the distance.

That, and many other "moments", are blessings... and very often, in the day-to-day ramblings of life, we miss them... but not yesterday.

...and when we are able to notice these wonderful moments, what more blessing could we ask for?

Life, more often than not, is really good.

Now, yes, I know it's mother's day... and I will be calling my mum to wish her a happy one... but I figured that many bloggers would be covering the blessing of mothers so I thought I'd do something a touch different.

That said, however, I do want to wish EACH and EVERY mother, mom, momma, mum, mummy, or however you are addressed the very best of this day... We, your children, love you all!

...and to my two favourite mothers, my wife and my own mum, I love you both and am glad that I will soon be speaking to the one, and cuddling with the other shortly.

Happy Mother's Day!

The standard last note on the old blog... PLEASE SUPPORT THE DREAM!

This blog is here to help promote a dream that an entire family shares... that dream is to rescue an old London Double-Decker bus.

Please, if you have a few minutes, take some time to find out more about this bus and the kooky dream by clicking here.

This bus is VERY special to myself and the whole family, and any help any person can lend us would be most gratefully accepted.

If you or someone you know might be interested, there's our tiny banner site, HelpCoverTheBus.Com and a PayPal donation button (see the upper-right hand side of the blog) and, of course, a Cafe Press shop for T-Shirts and shtuff!
(...and who doesn't need some shtuff!)

Please help us make this dream a reality and save a piece of history!

We thank you for your support!

Please Note: We are also hoping for help from a public relations/marketing standpoint... If you might be able to assist OR know someone who might be willing to, please click here and read this entry...

Hey MsDemmie... Back atcha! (Remember, although Sue qualifies, the only time I've ever been called a "mother", it was meant in a derogatory sense.)

One Old Green Bus

This blog is (more or less) about the attempts to acquire a dusty, old, double-decker bus...restore, and refurbish her...for use as a camper/RV, and day tripper for fun, and travel

The bus is a Regent Low Height (to be exact, RLH 3) in Santa Rosa, California... To purchase and ship it to our home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will require a minimum of $20k in US dollars to achieve...

As goofy as it may seem, owning this old, dusty, non-running, needs a tonne of work bus would be a dream come true for our family.
