List-er-ino Fridays: I'm scared... hold me...

It's List-er-ino Fridays here at One Old Green Bus... and I thought I'd share my FIVE WORST FEARS and invite you to do the same... either in the comments section here or on your own blog... or not...

Hey, it's something I get asked a lot... "So, if ghosts don't scare you... what does?" without further adieu, here's my five worst fears!

#5: Certain Heights Don't get me wrong, I can handle being in tall buildings and even do okay on catwalks in theatres, but top three steps of a ladder or anyplace that sways/moves... or has uneven floors... and I'm a basket case.

Stinky Poo!

#4: Bad Smells Now, I'm not talking when someone "breaks wind" or the like... but those odours known to make people violently ill. To date, I've never had to deal with rotting flesh... and I never want to.

Porceline Alter

#3: Throwing Up Sounds weird, doesn't it... but allow me to tell a couple of quick stories...

When I was a very young lad, I ended up in a closet and ate a considerable amount of what I assumed were small mints... they were mothballs. My parents, when they found me, assumed (probably rightly) that I'd ingested a boxful. They rushed me to the Emergency Room which gave me the drugs to "pump my stomach"... they gave me a child's dose, and it didn't work... so they upped it to an adult dose... no go. So, they DOUBLED an adult dose and I didn't throw up. They assumed the toxins had spread and it was far too late and sent me home to be comfortable. Well, within an hour of being home, the drugs worked... and worked... and worked. I don't remember it, but my mother tells me I threw up (or tried with an empty stomach) for about twelve solid hours... the hospital told my parents to just give me water... which also came right up. After a solid twenty-four hours of no sleep and horrid stomach, I managed to sleep and came out the other side a little worse for wear.

The other story is the death of my father... He suffered a heart attack which caused him to aspirate... literally throw up into his own lungs. He drowned. I was seventeen and was there when it happened... and will never forget it.

Call it a hunch, but these two events have played havoc with my willingness to be ill...

Three of Five

#2: Losing One of My Pets. The worst part is it will be inevitable... but even thinking about it is tough. That day at the vets or wherever, I'll be a complete basket case... and yet, it will be my job to try and be strong for Sue and our little one. That's a huge fear.

La Familla

#1: Losing My Family Not too long ago, there was an unfortunate fire near the city we live in... it took out a mother and three kids... leaving the father only. I can not imagine that pain.

Hand-in-hand with this fear is that we could end up homeless or the like and be separated...

Either way, yeah, that's the worst fear.

If you're interested, #6 would be ANY insect that's "hairy" or larger than one-inch in size.

So, kind of a lame list today... but man, I am WIPED and thanking the Gods it's FRIDAY!!!!

The standard last note on the old blog... PLEASE SUPPORT THE DREAM!

This blog is here to help promote a dream that an entire family shares... that dream is to rescue an old London Double-Decker bus.

Please, if you have a few minutes, take some time to find out more about this bus and the kooky dream by clicking here.

This bus is VERY special to myself and the whole family, and any help any person can lend us would be most gratefully accepted.

If you or someone you know might be interested, there's our tiny banner site, HelpCoverTheBus.Com and a PayPal donation button (see the upper-right hand side of the blog) and, of course, a Cafe Press shop for T-Shirts and shtuff!
(...and who doesn't need some shtuff!)

Please help us make this dream a reality and save a piece of history!

We thank you for your support!

Please Note: We are also hoping for help from a public relations/marketing standpoint... If you might be able to assist OR know someone who might be willing to, please click here and read this entry...

Should we go back to concentrating on and letting folks know how things are going with our bus? (Kinda back to the good ol' days?)
