"London is not recognised by these old relics."

A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven." -
Former Canadian Prime-Minister, The Right Honourable Jean Chretien

First off, this is Not a Sponsored Post... this one's on topic and from the heart...

The great, great people at PayPerPost (who, honestly, I have nothing but admiration for and owe much thanks to,) released a newsletter via e-mail yesterday... included was an item called "Postie Patrol London". What image did the fine, fine people at PayPerPost use to represent London???

Postie Patrol London

Well, seeing the OBVIOUS connection to London with the much venerable old double-decker bus. Yup, an AEC Routemaster RML model! (Take that, Mr. Edwards!)

Kudos to the amazing people at PayPerPost for recognising these vehicles as being one of London's (heck, England's) best known icons!

Once Sue finds employment and we can start funnelling our PayPerPost earnings toward getting our bus, at the rate we're going with the earnings for our sponsored work, it will be in our hands in a very short time!

Many, MANY thanks to PayPerPost! You guys ROCK!

One tiny complaint(?) though... On the Postie Patrol London thing, you're last question...

What else has the Tower of London been used for...?

- A Prison
- A Zoo
- An Armoury

You do know there is no wrong answer, right? It's been ALL of those things...

Perhaps you did know... in fact, you must have...

Nice folks at PayPerPost... making sure the fellow got his reward!

...uh-oh, by saying the above, have I broken kayfabe?

Either way, for those who aren't sure about PayPerPost and what they do, allow me to put your mind at ease PERSONALLY... they've been outstanding! I highly recommend that if you're a constant blogger (like us) and want to earn some money through your efforts, check 'em out... to be honest, as an ANCIENT "user" on these here Interwebs, (I've had a "web presence" of some sort since 1994,) this is the best thing I've ever seen for making an income online and it WORKS!

The standard last note on the old blog... PLEASE SUPPORT THE DREAM!

This blog is here to help promote a dream that an entire family shares... that dream is to rescue an old London Double-Decker bus.

RLH 3

Please, if you have a few minutes, take some time to find out more about this bus and the kooky dream by clicking here.

This bus is VERY special to myself and the whole family, and any help any person can lend us would be most gratefully accepted.

If you or someone you know might be interested, there's our tiny banner site, HelpCoverTheBus.Com and a PayPal donation button (see the upper-right hand side of the blog) and, of course, a Cafe Press shop for T-Shirts and shtuff!
(...and who doesn't need some shtuff!)

Please help us make this dream a reality and save a piece of history!

We thank you for your support!

Please Note: We are also hoping for help from a public relations/marketing standpoint... If you might be able to assist OR know someone who might be willing to, please click here and read this entry...

You're absolutely right, it was used as all three but prison was the first thing that came to mind at the time!

And I agree, the old routemasters are iconic and I really miss them, it's a real shame they only use them as tourist buses from time to time.

I sometimes get extremely claustrophobic on the new buses, something which never happened on a routemaster because I could get on and off as I pleased.

You'd think they would leave the hop-on/hop-off concept alone and just modernise them a bit :(

Anyway thanks for the attention!

Hey Ebola... Ew... does it seem odd saying "Hey!" to a rather nasty virus... none-the-less, I agree as someone who's been both on the "bendi-buses" (we had them here in Toronto and got rid of them post-haste) and Routemasters that the latter is a superior vehicle (and greener, believe it or not!) in many ways... I suppose designing ramps of some sort was out of the question...

...anyway...

Good on you too for the win and thanks for popping by!

One Old Green Bus

This blog is (more or less) about the attempts to acquire a dusty, old, double-decker bus...restore, and refurbish her...for use as a camper/RV, and day tripper for fun, and travel

The bus is a Regent Low Height (to be exact, RLH 3) in Santa Rosa, California... To purchase and ship it to our home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will require a minimum of $20k in US dollars to achieve...

As goofy as it may seem, owning this old, dusty, non-running, needs a tonne of work bus would be a dream come true for our family.
