MERRY CHRISTMAS - A not-too-Christmas post!

Actually, this IS a Christmas post... but done yesterday (please scroll down to read our Christmas greeting it if you haven't yet...) and presented here today through the magic of a "time stamp" edit! (Whee~!)

What I thought I'd do is a post for those who, on this special day, have found themselves online to kill time...

Perhaps you're bored now that prezzies have been opened... perhaps you had no plans and are having a quiet day... perhaps you're not celebrating Christmas... and here you are... in the blogsphere to kill some time.

So, you're YouTubed out... and you're now trying to entertain yourself online...

Well, let me give you three pieces of advice... Stuff to do online...

Space! The Final Frontier!

Mr Death

#1: My favourite time killing websites!

I have a kind of a darker side... tinged with just a hint of humour... so the websites I frequent for entertainment reading reflect that... Below are my three fave sites... linked to open a NEW browser so you can return here when you're done...

- Find-A-Death - A good mix of gossip and death in Tinsel-Town! Entertainingly written and possibly a little... well... some have strong reactions to it (especially fans of some of the people "covered" on the site,) and yes, it's salacious... but sometimes, I need salacious! None-the-less, a great read and a lot of fun!

- The Dead People Server (...are you seeing a theme here?) What I like about this is trying to think of celebs, artists, famed folk... and find out whether they're still around sharing oxygen with us. Sure, a little morbid, but interesting!

- Find-A-Grave Haven't you wondered what some of your favourite historical person's and past-on celebs gravesites look like? Here's your chance!

...there are many more, but these should keep you amused! :)

Space! The Final Frontier!

Arcade Action

#2: Games? Only if you're over thirty!

Remember "coin-ops"? Pac-Man? Donkey-Kong? Pheonix?

Ever hear of MAME? (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator)

Okay, this is sketchy legally*, but none-the-less, painlessly located online!

You can download a MAME and then the "ROMS" (the programs from the chips of your favourite arcade game) and PLAY THEM! (No quarters required!)

Click here to download a copy of MAME... then click here or click here or click here to download some memories and enjoy an old game!

* - Remember, piracy is bad! So, you will promise me that you OWN these coin-op machines before downloading and using these things, right??? Right! Good!

Space! The Final Frontier!

#3: I Love Radio Shows!

Go ahead, type in your favourite thing in Google like this... with this... (substitute wrestling for your favourite thing...)

+wrestling +podcast

+"pro wrestling" +radio +program

(When you want to "join" two words in Google, just put quotes around them.)

Voila! Some interesting listening!

Beyond these suggestions, the only other thing that can amuse me for a while is watching movie trailers... Apple's the best place, oddly enough, to find 'em. Click here to see their selection.

Thats about right

Of course, if you're wondering where I go for "paranormal" bits and pieces... Check out...

The Anomalist

UFO Updates

Saucer Smear

...and yes, even...

Coast to Coast AM

So there we are! I hope I've amused those who needed some amusing! A Merry Christmas To All and I'll "E" you in a couple of days!

Hey MsDemmie... just coming out of my turkey dinner hangover... Yeah, the sites are interesting... and a lot of... fun?

MAMEs and ROMs are just addicting.

Welcome to our Double Decker Dream Blog...

This blog is (more or less) about the attempts to acquire a dusty, old, double-decker bus...

The bus is a Regent Low Height (to be exact, RLH 3) in Santa Rosa, California... To purchase and ship it to our home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will require a minimum of $20k in US dollars to achieve...

As goofy as it may seem, owning this old, dusty, non-running, needs a tonne of work bus would be a dream come true for our family.
