Long, long ago, my hometown, Toronto, Ontario, Canada ran double-decker's with The Toronto Transit Commision from 1921 until about 1927.
The buses, one Associated Equipment Company 404 (AEC is the same company that built the bus this site and blog are really about, RLH 3,) and four Fifth Avenue Bus Company models...
What makes this interesting for your's truly is their route... which I only just learned of a couple of days back...
I have to set this up, so bear with me...
I'm firmly attached to the area I live in... the neighbourhood is a great one that I used to visit frequently and enjoyed being in and was thrilled to find an apartment that we could afford in this lovely section of town. Both my wife and myself are firmly entrenched here and hoping to buy our home here.
Now, cut forward to a few days ago...
I'm looking for "blog material" when I find a site listing the old TTC bus routes... and apparently, the old double-deckers only ran one route... guess which neighbourhood they ran through?
Yup...
They would have run practically right beside my apartment.
I'd add this to the list of synchronicities between ourselves and RLH 3... but this one is really just a generic "interesting aside"...
Right now, the serious synchronicities with us and RLH 3 are...
#1: It's former residence in Roswell, New Mexico (...and the fact that Sue's a Ufologist and we both study the paranormal.) This one's my favourite!
#2: RLH 3 began life on May 31st, 1950... and I began life on May 31st, 1967... so we share a birthday.
#3: When last in England, I use to take a long walk through London almost every night... it ends up that the route I walked was RLH 3's "centre city" route when it came in from the country... this was it's longest lasting route when in service. Needless to say, the last time I was in London was 1995 and I knew nothing of RLH 3... I just liked the walk.
...and I'll add this one, but it's not perfect...
#4: While "Googling" RLH 3, I came across this...
Table of contents for Battlegrounds of freedom : a historical guide to the battlefields of the War of American Independence / Norman Desmarais.
RLH-3: Re-enacting, family activities, children and cooking.
...which I found weird since we're (the family) War of 1812 re-enactors.
Anyway, I still think it's very cool that double-deckers once ran past my home... perhaps RLH 3 will be rolling down the same route as they did...

See the "latest post" on the left here... I've decided to concentrate on other work so this blog is kinda done for me... THANKS kindly to my friends and regular readers... and as you'll note, I am still loitering in the blogsphere... and I'm still online... and I honestly haven't given up hope that we will get our dream bus one day! (We've just gotten REALLY quiet about it...)
